Seattle Chamber Music Society

Their 24th summer festival expands this year, adding six more concerts in August at The Overlake School in Redmond to the full July lineup on the park-like grounds of the Lakeside School. (Picknickers can enjoy the music literally from the grounds; the concerts are broadcast outside for free). The 8 p.m. concerts are preceded by intimate, informal 7 p.m. recitals, in which SCMS musicians get to share their personal enthusiasms. To kick off next Tuesday: Shai Wosner plays Beethoven's "Tempest" Sonata at 7 p.m., followed by Beethoven, Brahms, and Dvorak at 8 p.m. Wed. July 6: Jonathan Crow and James Ehnes offer violin duets by Bartok and Wieniawski at 7 p.m.; Boccherini, Gershwin, Poulenc, and Brahms (the Piano Quintet, including cellist Steven Doane, pictured) follow at 8 p.m. Lakeside School, 14050 First Ave. N.E., 206-283-8808. $16-$38.
