Local Summer CD Releases

Sure, you can go out every night during the summer and hear good music, but why limit yourself? Several local artists have summer-pegged CDs. Here are seven of the most noteworthy.

Brandi Carlile, no title yet (Columbia) The 2004 Seattle Weekly Music Award winner (for Best Singer/Songwriter) was signed to the major label at the beginning of the year and appears on the company's soundtrack for the movie Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, out this week. Her as-yet-untitled debut for Columbia doesn't have a release date set, either, but is scheduled to arrive sometime during the summer; John Goodmanson (Sleater-Kinney) produces.
