You're bound to encounter creatures from round the cosmos here (you'll know when you see the Space Needle from the bathroom window). Space: plentiful, with cloistered booths lit with dim red lamps. Atmosphere: youth hostel rec room where you can carry on. At happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. weekdays (6 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and all night Sunday) you can fuel your space odyssey for 50 cents off all drinks and half off all food. A heaping plate of chips and salsa runs $2.50, a flying saucer (pizza) is $5. Try Fat Tire's Bier de Mars—smooth, never bitter—or Hoegaarden—brewed in Belgium, colored like lemonade, so fresh it's hard to believe it contains alcohol. (Both are $3.50.) Guinness and Pilsner Urquell lovers: Your pints will cost $4.50. Bottle selection ($3.25) is eclectic, from Spire Apple Cider to Black Butte Porter. After a couple of these, maybe a plate of rice and beans ($3.50). Those with less discriminating tastes, don't despair—there's bottle High Life or Miller Lite for $2.25, and those who are plain broke can score Pabst in the can for a buck fiddy and, of course, Oly for a dolla. Hard hitters: Mixed drinks and most shots are $3.50. Friday nights you'll find a band on the small stage in the corner within easy throwing distance of the bar. 609 Eastlake Ave. E.
