POLLY ESTHER'S

WON'T YOU TAKE ME DOWN?

You're gonna have to face facts sooner or later: There is no Funkytown. Fortunately, the folks at the New York-based chain of '70s/'80s-themed nightclubs Polly Esther's have created the next best thing, with a palace of retro tunes and dancing across from the Space Needle and Experience Music Project. Going strong for a few years now, the popular spot serves up disco in the main room and '80s hits (Weird Science, anyone?) in the Culture Club, and fills out the fun with a Partridge Family Busyou know, for ambiance. Polly Esther's three dance floors pulse with energy every weekend till 4 a.m., as good-time seekers bump and grind to music played the way they like it (uh-huh, uh-huh). 332 Fifth Ave. N, 206-441-1970.
