THE NORTHWEST WINE GUIDE: A BUYER'S HANDBOOK, By Andy Perdue

Sasquatch Books, $14.95

Seattle publisher Sasquatch Books has an annoying habit. It waits until every other publisher has issued a book on some Northwest subject and then puts out one of its own which instantly makes all the others irrelevant. They've just done it again. This slim volume by the founder-editor of the monthly Wine Press Northwest contains just about all the information any wine lover needs to track down the best bottles from Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia, whether the customer's looking for something inexpensive for tonight's barbecue or something to put away for a very special occasion. The perfect size to slip into a purse or pocket or stash in the glove compartment, The Northwest Wine Guide is sure to be, like Sasquatch mainstay Northwest Best Places, one of those round-the-house necessities that just keeps getting better edition after edition.
