Tayberries, Loganberries, and More

Puget Sound Fresh says it's a "berry good" time to visit the market, and that's right. Look for sweet, tart delights such as raspberries, tayberries, loganberries, blueberries, blackberries, gooseberries, and currants. If you've had your fill of berries, perhaps you'd prefer a stinking rose? Alvarez Farms has giant heads of elephant garlic this week at the Pike Place Market.

The first of the Red Haven peaches are here, along with the early ears of corn. Summer squash and veggies are in full swing. Look for multiple green bean varietals, pea vines, beets, okra, cauliflower, broccoli, pickling cucumbers, and cabbage. Basil and other fresh herbs are also available at a market stall near you.
