LOOKING FOR SOME prime real estate in the area? Maybe a struggling aerospace company can be of some assistance.

According to a New York Times story, Boeing is preparing to move some $50 million to $60 million worth of land in Kent over the course of the next few months. The 240-acre plot—part of the 431 acres purchased in Kent by the company in the 1960s—is being marketed by Boeing as the future home of several large office buildings and a strip of retail space. Consideration is also being given to the sale of the now partially vacated former Seattle headquarters. As pointed out by reporter Harriet King, it was the headquarters complex that was camouflaged as a serene suburban neighborhood during World War II to ward off aerial attack.

No word yet on whether the company has considered the possibility of painting 30,000 happy employees on the building to distract its pesky naysayers.
