WHERE DO YOU LIVE? Australia

WHAT DO YOU DO? I’m a judge.

WHADCHAGIT? A very eclectic mix: Recurring Dream: The Very Best of Crowded House; Squirrel Nut Zippers, Bedlam Ballroom; and— just to make it even more eclectic— a collection of Brahms concertos.

ARE THOSE THINGS YOU COULDN’T FIND IN AUSTRALIA? No, but CDs are a little bit cheaper here.

YOU’RE INTO THOSE BANDS? They’re played in our family. One of our daughters likes Crowded House, and the other likes Squirrel Nut Zippers; she listens to them on the Internet. But we like classical music.

WILL YOU SEE ANY PERFORMANCES HERE? We would have gone to the symphony tonight, but it wasn’t playing. We leave tomorrow for the East Coast.

WHAT DID YOU THINK OF OUR MARDI GRAS PROBLEMS? Maybe you should change here. In Sydney we only have gay and lesbian Mardi Gras, and those go off without any troubles.
